PROEFNOTITIES:

DRUIVEN: Chardonnay.
VEROUDERING: De wijn blijft op de moer in vaten gedurende een periode van 10 maanden.
VOORVOORBEREIDING: De druiven ondergaan een zachte ontstelen, gemalen en geperst om fermentarel sap in Franse eiken vaten.

Ik hield niet van de kleur, met bruine randen. Het heeft aroma's van witte bloemen. Jammer het was een beetje bitter.

Stellenbosch is the most famous wine-growing region of South Africa, Stellenbosch has the most top domains and is surrounded by mountains (Helderberg and Simonsberg) and has vineyards in every direction. Stellenbosch has the only university in South Africa with a wine-growing department. Even though two-thirds of the vineyards are planted with white grapes, there is a growing awareness that Stellenbosch is destined for red wine. The Jordans have something with Chardonnay. The grape has become their specialty in recent years.
The Nine Yards Chardonnay has aged for 13 months with regular rolling of the barrels to get the lees well mixed with the wine. The nose is very refined with scents of almond, nutmeg, a hint of melted butter but all well defined and not predominant. The taste is very well balanced with fresh acids, a hint of orange peel, pear and peach. This is a very elegant and complex white wine and for good reason Jordan is the top domain for an excellent Chardonnay and they certainly prove that with this top model the Nine Yards Chardonnay. The flagship, the Nine Yards Chardonnay has twice been named 'Best Chardonnay of the World' by wine magazine Decanter and has also won the Wine Competition Proefschrift.
